Frequently asked questions
Do I need this if my city does not require a posted map?
Maybe not for compliance, but your guests still do not get local emergency alerts, and you are the only one who knows who is in the house on storm day. Where no map is required, the storm-day alerts are the main reason to have a plan; where a rule exists, the posting also covers your permit.
Who decides when guests must leave?
Your county emergency management office. We pass on official orders; we never issue them. This plan does not replace official orders. Always follow your local emergency management office and 911 instructions.
How is the route chosen?
From the room where the posting hangs to the nearest exit, then by road to the nearest shelter outside the zones that would be ordered out. On storm day the route is redrawn around reported closures and limited to shelters outside the ordered zones.
Is software writing the guest messages?
Software drafts them so they are ready in seconds. A named safety reviewer checks every draft against the official order before it is sent, and can edit or hold it back.
What does the yearly fee cover?
A pre-season review of your route, shelters and ordinance every May, a reprinted posting if anything changed, and storm-day guest alerts with a human check.
When does the portfolio rate apply?
When your account has 10 or more units: $99 per unit setup and $79 per unit per year instead of $149 and $99.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel any time before sign-off for a full refund. Renewals can be declined: if a renewal is not paid within 30 days of the renewal date, coverage lapses, storm-day alerts stop and the guest page goes offline.
What happens to guest contact details?
They are used only for evacuation alerts and deleted 30 days after check-out.
